Request a Letter of Recommendation

I am happy to support current and former students by writing letters of recommendation/support. However, due to the increased volume of letters I have streamlined the process.

When requesting a letter of recommendation, please be sure to complete the below form in its entirety. By completing this form and submitting the requested documentation I am able to craft the most accurate letter of recommendation/support that is tailored to and meet the requirements of the opportunity to which you are applying to/for.

I ask that all letter of recommendation/support requests be submitted at least 3 weeks in advance. Requests submitted less than 3 weeks in advance may not be fulfilled or returned on time.

Please list any ways you have worked with me (i.e. student organizations, student employee, research, etc.)

Please provide a few bullets about how you feel your experience with me (coursework, research, or other experience) is related to the opportunity/program you are applying for/to.

Please provide a few points summarizing your intention, motivation, and interest related to the opportunity you are applying for/to (i.e. Why are you interested/pursuing this opportunity? What qualifications, strengths, or experience do you bring to it? What distinguishes you? How does/will it contribute to your personal and professional goals?)

Please tell me at least two examples of your demonstrated excellence in the experience you had with me (i.e. describe your contributions to the course or how this experience opened your eyes to a specific area of research, affected the way you think about a certain issue, or contributed to your personal/professional goals).

If it has been more than a year since you were in my class or worked with me, please fill me in on what you've been doing since I last saw you (i.e. What have you been up to? What’s new in your life? Where are you now?).

Please feel free to share any additional information that you think is important for me to know/consider when writing your letter. Is there anything in particular you want me to add/discuss in your letter?
